About

Get to know me…

I started my career at the Milton-Ulladulla Times after securing a journalism cadetship at the age of 19. By 22 I was promoted to the news editor and, at 28 became the managing editor of several news and tourism publications under the Milton-Ulladulla Publishing Company & Rural Press, then later Fairfax, umbrellas.

My husband Andrew and I married in our early twenties, worked hard, ran our own tae kwon-do studio, built our home at Conjola Park and travelled a lot before settling down and having two daughters, Sienna and Grace.

A busy mum, involved in host of the kids’ activities, including musical theatre, swimming and dance, I was lucky to have a fantastic work/life balance, and returned to the Milton-Ulladulla Times as the senior journalist until 2016, when I started my boutique media and marketing business, focusing on web content and social media.

In late 2016 I decided to take my marketing skills to the real estate industry and worked three-days a week alongside Ben Pryde, one of Australia’s top agents, handling all of his promotions, traditional marketing, social media platforms and coordinating the marketing for his clients – often numbering more than 100 at a time, including large residential developments, apartment complexes and land releases as well as exclusive beachfront properties and lifestyle retreats.

The south coast of NSW copped a hammering with unprecedented bush fires wiping out towns and villages at the end of 2019. My family didn’t escape the wrath of the monster, with our home and 89 others in Conjola Park wiped out on New Years Eve.

Since then, I’ve been juggling work, rebuilding, my own business and home-schooling two children due to the Covid 19 lock-down. I, along with six others, was recently made redundant as one of the Raine and Horne offices was closed due to the combined impact of the fires and Coronavirus on the region. A skeleton staff remains and I am continuing to do some contract work for the business.

With the kids set to return to school, aged 12 and 15, now is the time for me to return to full-time work. I’m looking forward to a fresh start and bringing my swag of skills and energy to a new career in communications, journalism or marketing.

I have excellent communication and management skills both face to face and via traditional and digital media platforms. I am friendly, reliable, efficient and always up for a challenge.

I enjoy working in a friendly, face paced environment either on my own or within a team that works towards provided excellent service and promoting our region a as a vibrant and innovative cultural destination.

Highly articulate, creative and energetic, I also possess excellent time management and organisational skills – imperative in my former role as a managing editor with Fairfax Media.

Having worked on countless community campaigns over the past two decades, I am genuinely passionate about my local community and enjoy working alongside organisations that are connected to the town and its people.

Over the years, I have been involved with dozens of tourism and cultural events both on committees, as a photographer and managing media and marketing including ARTfest, the Milton Follies, Blessing of the Fleet, Ulladullirious, the Gaia Farmer’s Market, Relay for Life, Ulladulla Swimming Club and many, many more.
